Sri Alathur is the OG “Jolly Genie” and founder of The Jolly Genie Theater Company. He has combined his passion for the performing arts with his ability to bring out the best in neurodiverse and differently abled individuals.
As an actor, director, set designer, and prop maker, he is known for creating unique, visually stunning productions that celebrate the talents of individuals of all abilities. Being an ardent fan of special effects, he works fervently to bring the magic of creativity and technology onto the stage.
His acclaimed plays, Refugees and Thy Lady Knight, actively sought out actors of diverse abilities, with scripts adapted to ensure accessibility for all performers, including non-verbal actors. SSri’s commitment to inclusion goes beyond the stage, offering opportunities in costume design, make-up, prop fabrication, and other backstage roles. By fostering empathy, patience, and improvisation, he proves that with the right support, individuals of all abilities can shine through, and build their lives with self-confidence, self-esteem, fulfillment, and pride.
