At Jolly Genie Theater, we are more than just a drama company. We are a community of creatives who are passionate about the performing arts. From student-led clubs to faculty-led workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with individuals and mentors with similar interests. Tailored Curriculum
We understand that every student has unique talents and interests. That's why our acting classes offer a flexible curriculum that can be tailored to meet each student's individual needs. Scripts and content is moulded around the individual and the team to set everyone up for success.
Simulated production environments
At Jolly Genie Theater, we believe in creating the environments that neurodiverse actors will experience in the real world with studio like settings, lights, green screens, projections. Getting used to the controlled chaos that they will face in theater, TV or film sets.
Small Class Sizes
We believe in providing our students with personalized attention. That's why we keep our class sizes small, so that each student can get the individualized support they need to succeed.
Performance Opportunities
We offer a variety of performance opportunities throughout the year, giving our students the chance to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience in front of live audiences.
Talent Management Program
Personalized audition preparation and rehearsal support. Exclusive leads and audition opportunities in the New York Metropolitan area. First preference to audition for our upcoming productions.
Dedicated Guides
Personal supervision by Sri Alathur, founder and Artistic Director of the Jolly Genie Theater Company. Sri has proven experience working with neurodiverse actors of all ages and actively makes modifications to integrate the actors seamlessly into mainstream productions.
Consultation and on-site production support
We provide consultation to productions and on-site support to help working with neurodiverse actors and special needs talent. Whether it's directing them, or creating safe, sensory friendly and inclusive environments.
